I’m Betsy! I created Betsy DeVille on a quest for the perfect gift. I wanted something lovely and chic, a real conversation piece, for a dear friend who is joyfully secular. Atheist really. (some folks don’t like that word. ) I wanted something that would capture all the awesome things about secular life. And, I wanted something that could be enjoyed every day, at home, around town, or even at a more formal occasion. I also didn’t want something that would feel snarky or offensive but instead, something that could inspire, enlighten and delight. I couldn’t settled on just one idea so I kept going, exploring our secular heritage, and learning about historical figures that championed reason, even when, sometimes, it cost them everything.
